Materials & Care

Our rings are made in a range of materials, and the right one for you comes down to look, feel and budget. Because the collection varies, there's no single material that applies to every piece — so the golden rule is simple.

• Stainless steel. A hard-wearing, everyday-friendly metal with a clean modern finish.
• 925 sterling silver. A classic precious metal with a bright, timeless look. Like all silver, it can tarnish gradually with exposure to air and moisture and can be polished back up.
• Silver-plated. A base metal finished with a layer of silver for the look at a friendlier price. Plating is a surface finish, so treat it a little more gently.
• Gold-plated. A base metal finished with a layer of gold tone. As with any plating, kind treatment helps the finish last.

A little routine care keeps jewellery looking lovely for longer. These are sensible general guidelines that suit most pieces:

• Store your ring somewhere dry, ideally in a pouch or box, and keep pieces separate so they don't scratch one another.
• Put your ring on last — after moisturiser, perfume, hairspray and make-up — and take it off first.
• Wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear to remove oils and everyday residue.
• Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners, which can dull finishes and plating.
• For spinning and sliding styles, keeping the ring clean and dry helps the movement stay smooth.

As a general rule, it's best to remove jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or washing up. Prolonged contact with water, soap, chlorine and salt can affect finishes over time — plated pieces especially prefer to stay dry. Check the product page for anything specific to that style.
